Financial Advisor

After graduating with an Engineering degree from The University of Texas at Austin, I moved to Kansas City in 1987 and married my wife, Doris. We started our family here and now have four wonderful children.

While working, I completed my MBA at Rockhurst College. I enjoyed working on a range of engineering projects, including some that are now orbiting Saturn and a mission that reached Pluto. Over time, I felt a strong pull to work more closely with people and the community. In 2007, I transitioned to a career as a Financial Advisor. I began at UBS, earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, and built my business from the ground up.

As some UBS colleagues moved to independent practices, I realized this approach could better serve both my clients and me. Now, as an independent advisor with Summit Financial Networks, a boutique firm, I find the profession incredibly rewarding. My independence allows me to regularly connect with other advisors and share ideas.

Outside of work sailboat racing, traveling and spending time with my family. My experiences in raising a family, caring for a parent in a nursing home, and running a small business help me relate to my clients on a personal level.
